October 20, 2010 Dear Artists: The IAPS 2010 Web Show is now posted on the web site. It's a great show, with a wonderful assortment of styles and subjects all demonstrating the incredible range of possibilities in pastel. We hope you will enjoy it. We had a record number of entries this year--over 850 images--and 72 were accepted for the exhibition. It was an enormous job for our show chair, Liz Haywood-Sullivan, and our jurors of selection, Lorenzo Chavez, Margaret Evans and Bill Hosner, and we thank them all for their time and efforts. Our judge of awards, Claudia Seymour, faced an equally daunting task in picking 9 award winners from the accepted entries, and we appreciate her care in selecting the award winners. Her comments about the top 5 award-winning images are included on the web site. We have posted a prospectus for each of our two upcoming exhibitions, the IAPS 2011 Poster Competition and the IAPS 18th Juried Exhibition, also on the IAPS web site. For those artists who are members of the IAPS Master Circle, the submission form for the first IAPS Master Circle Exhibition is also available from the upcoming IAPS competitions page. Speaking of exhibitions, don't forget to check periodically on the web site for upcoming member society exhibitions. As our member societies plan their 2011 exhibitions, more information should be added to that page, so check often for new postings. Registrations have been pouring in for the IAPS 2011 convention If you haven't registered yet, don't delay. Some of the workshops, master classes and hands-on classes with limited class space have already sold out, but there are many other sessions to choose from. Complete convention information is available on the web site. It's going to be the best convention ever--hope to see you there! Best regards, Maggie Price President, IAPS www.pastelinternational.com
